I wanted to share the cream tart I made for my daughter's birthday on FNCC, but can't post replies there.  So here goes:

She'd not a fan of cake or buttercream or chocolate (I know, right?  more for me!).  Her sister suggested a cream tart and offered to help.  I made the cookies from the No-Fail Sugar Cookie Recipe I found here and cut them out using a template made by my trusty and creative assistant (aforementioned sister).  I used whipped cream in the middle.  Next time I'll add more than just powdered sugar to stabilize it.  The decorations are meringues, white-chocolate covered strawberries that my daughter painted with luster dust, and buttercream flowers that should've been a little stiffer.   I'd intended to place the cookies directly on the silver platter, but discovered at the last minute that it wouldn't fit in my fridge and had to use a board after all. I learned lots that I'll do differently next time, but was pretty pleased with the result.  As was the birthday girl, which is what really matters.

beautiful -- I love these things -- and yours are gorgeous

weepy whipped cream is under whipped -- properly whipped whipped cream does not need stabilizer -- it turns to butter if whipped too much right? so whip it just less than when it turns to butter -- it holds fine
