I've been running my cake making business from home for the past 4 and half years. Luckily I had a large kitchen in which to do this, which has served me well. But now I'm getting busier with bigger and more complex orders, I've really outgrown the kitchen and have decided to sell up and buy a house where I can run the business from a workshop/lodge/converted garage etc.
It's been hard to find the exact type of property in which to run the business. I'm not big enough yet to hire a unit or shop, but i'm too big for inside the home. I also have customers come to collect their cakes and have numerous wedding consultations etc, so I wanted the place to be free of home life.
Has anyone else had a similar situation here, where they have outgrown their home bakery business, and how did you overcome it?
