Hi - having to do a new post as despite being part of the site for ages I have never once been able to respond to someone else’s post. Emails to CC are ignored.

Anyway I am by no means an expert on roses however my suggestion would be the petals are too big for the ball you are using. I select petal size by picking something about a third/half bigger again than the ball. Hope that makes sense. You would have less of a bell then at the base
