I'm a hobby Baker but have my 3rd wedding cake order coming up in a few weeks time. My bride has requested that her cake should be for around 250 people. I'm wondering if a 8", 10" and 12" cake is going to be enough or if I should go bigger. Any advice please? Thanks.

According to most sizing guides, a round 12", 10" and 8" cake will feed 126 people, and that is the small, wedding size servings.  Even if you add 14" and 6" tiers, you will still only have enough servings for about 210 people.  You can always supplement the quantity with sheet cakes for cutting and serving.

I agree with Sandra.  Additional sheet cakes for weddings is one of the best tips I have gotten from Cake Central.  They are easy to cut and serve and brides love the idea!
