Spraying Vodka On Fondant Figures

I have heard that spraying/brushing vodka on fondant figures will help clean off the dust and give it a good shine. Is this right? Or is there a need to add anything else to the vodka first?

Yes, you heard right. Don’t delete it. The alcohol will evaporate. You can also mix it with color to paint on your cakes.

I use vodka to clean gum paste flowers and my modeling chocolate pieces all the time...even the fondant on a cake, if it needs something removed.  I have not notice that it give it a shine.  That is one of the reasons for using it.
