Does anyone know how to achieve this effect on cake? Thank you in advance for any advice. I need to make this for a wedding in April.Marble Texture Buttercream Effects

It appears the cake was finished smoothly first, allowed to crust, than textured by using a palet knife to apply rough buttercream.

I agree with Sandra. I also think extra icing was added after the step Sandra mentioned, in a couple of layers to create a raised effect you would see in a slab of marble or granite. Then colour dusts used to highlight the lines and crevices to make them pop.
