Hello! After a lot of planning and self-induced stress, I have finally finished the daffodil cake for my nan's 80th birthday.
It's 6 layers of carrot cake, in a mixture of 9" round tins and a hemisphere tin. It's sandwiched and frosted with a cream cheese buttercream, and the decorations are hand-made fondant.
It's only my 3rd decorated cake and my first stacked cake so I'm quite pleased :) Any helpful tips / feedback would be appreciated!
self induced stress is a worthy ingredient -- it's a work of art after all -- you did a great job -- she's gonna love it --
i like that you put the cake dome to good use -- brilliant
Oh yes, one happy grandma coming up! You did a wonderful job!
