Hey all,

I'm from the UK and use double cream to ice my fresh cream cakes with.

Sometimes, customers tell me that upon cutting the cake slides off. I have posted a picture that a customer sent me.

Anyone  can help with the reason?  Thanks!

well for one thing it would sit better on it's cut side not on the back like that -- of course it's going to slip apart on the slippery fillings -- oh man it looks so good -- i'd eat it any which way it got served :) but that's the servers fault -- they placed it on a curved edge --

Are you sure that the slice wasn't served standing up and then fell over when the plate was moved thus causing it to "fall apart?"  Because if it was served on its side then the top certainly wouldn't have slipped off/fallen off like that.  Honestly, I think it is a serving and falling/gravity issue, not a "how you put it together" issue.

Silver sparkly bits look like silver leaf to me - is that right, @sapphire123?

And I agree, looks like the slice was served sitting straight up - until someone moved it. Not your fault!

I am with you, -K8mempis!  I would dive right into this and not even notice the slippage.  It does appear to have been positioned oddly on the plate!

That cake looks beautiful, moist and delicious. So tell them "not to wiggle it, just east it".
