I am making a wedding cake in Nov. and the bride wants a cake on top of a fountain. It is the Wilton fountain that is $69.99. It says to use 14 in or larger plates. Is there certain size pillars I should get? I have never done anything like this before. HELP!

This reads 14" or taller pillars.. Gardenridge has the whole set for like 40 bucks. I believe it has two 16" plates and 4 pillars.

Okay, the cake that is going to be above the fountain is only supposed to be a 10 inch. She wants two 8 inch satellite cakes with stairs connecting them to the 10 inch. The bride wants the clear pillars and plates, but in the Wilton yearbook it says that the 13 and 3/4 inch pillars must only be used with 17 inch plates. Obviuosly, that will not look great with a 10" cake. Should I suggest going with the white pillars and plates or a larger cake on top of the fountain?

Thanks for any help!

I'm thinking that you will definitely have to go with a larger cake over the fountain. The Wilton book recommends that you use 14" plates or larger with the fountain. A 10" inch cake may seem to small on a 14" plate or larger.
