I am having trouble with bakery DUST and wondering what you have done to reduce it.  We have a central AC system with a great filter that's changed regularly.  But we are finding that the flour and powdered sugar stirred up by our mixers is making our entire building dusty.  And I wholeheartedly believe that it's coming from the kitchen.   I am not concerned with allergies.  I simply want to reduce the visible dust that's covering the building.  HELP!!

Can you throw a towel over the mixer to stop the dust getting out the first place?

My next mixer will be a kitchen aid. I bought a sunbeam only because I got it at a yard sale and had never been used about 5 years ago. It was an older model and it seems to keep going so I will use it as long as it works well. It is 350 watts.  I also throw a clean dish towel over my mixer while mixing to stop the powdered sugar bombardment. It helps a lot!! I like the kitchen aid because most of them have a cover while mixing frosting!!!

I have two KitchenAids, a 5 quart and a 7 quart, and I throw a towel over both when mixing dry ingredients  I find the cover to be a nuisance.
