This person used the mold upside down instead of baking the meringue inside of the mold. It's at devilsfoodkitchen.com. He/she swirled the meringue onto the mold, baked it, and then sprinkled with coconut. I expect you could sprinkle with crystal sugar for a snow effect.
Here is the site for the actual recipe and method, but not sure if it will work.
