I have so many people requesting this frosting — I know I can buy it premodern at Walmart or Sam’s club.... but I prefer to make things myself....

does anyone one out there have a recipe for this bettercreme?! I need to be able to color it, make a chocolate version & pipe it For cupcakes...

I don't know if it's possible to make your own. It's specifically a processed, mass produced, non-dairy whipped frosting that has much more stability than regular whipped cream. It's very popular because grocery store bakeries use it and market it as a "satin" whipped frosting. Some labels even call it buttercream which is a flat out lie. It's glorified Cool Whip.

The underlying reason some people gravitate towards it is because they enjoy the light texture as well as the subtle sweetness. It's still sweet but not tooth-achingly sweet like regular buttercream. If your customers/friends want a lighter, less sweet frosting, I would experiment with either a stable whipped cream recipe, or Swiss Meringue Buttercream. Otherwise, you'll have to buy Rich's Bettercreme off the shelf.
