I just baked a cake and the middle sank

So what kind of cake did you bake? Sometimes opening the oven before you should could make a cake sink in middle or if cake is not fully cooked enough could make it sink. Cakes tend to cook from the edges and the middle is the last part to cook. Because of this, I tend to bake at lower temperature for a longer period of time. Also if you put too much baking powder or raising agent this could also cause cake to sink in middle.

Others here can probably give you a lot more information than I can because I am only a hobby baker and they bake every day and have seen it all. Hang in there I am sure someone here can help you.

Lots more info is needed!  What kind of cake?  Scratch or box?  What's the recipe?  What technique did you use?  What pan?  Oven situation?

Could be an overfilled pan. Or didn’t bake long enough. Or opened open to test too soon.
