Help! Have wedding order tomorrow....haven't  ever done one this big......now my cakes are HEAVY!! I have used those hollow hidden pillars

cut to size of tier, then you set the feet into pillars. I'm scared to use cardboard rounds because even when wrapped they can become soggy and weak. Can anyone suggest additional support or will that be fine....using the plastic footed plates, I won't be able to put dowel through all tiers once finished stacking....just nervous,

i use foam core boards that i cut myself --

you can coat them with wax if you want -- i never did but it's a great idea --i used mine plain because colette peters does/did --

i was retired from cakes by the time my brilliant friend told me about the wax -- she uses food safe soy wax -- she wipes the boards down then brushes them with melted wax --

don't sweat the center dowel thing -- if the cake needs the center dowel to hold it together -- the g-forces required to bring it to that point will have destroyed the cake already kwim?

best to you
