Using Cocoa To Turn Fondant Beige

I want to make a batch of Liz marek fondant but make it beige. Since the little boy can't have artificial food dyes I figured I would use cocoa. I kneaded some into a small ball of leftover fondant and it worked fine, the color is good.
however I was reading that it might cause cracking later if you add cocoa to fondant but that was when people were making it fully chocolate colored
so I'm not sure .. I was thinking I'd add cocoa with the sugar. how much cocoa in a whole batch would turn it beige? Would I be better off making a tiny batch of actual chocolate fondant and kneading some in?
Has anybody used cocoa to turn fondant beige ?
Thanks all!
Nervous about this cake ... it's the first time ive made a cake for someone who isn't family/a friend. I know the icing smiles person told the family I am not a professional but still nervous
yes your plan b or maybe test painting it afterward? or add a mixture of oil and cocoa? those are all ideas to test
My first thought was to use a small amount of cocoa powder. I see no reason in the world that it would make the fondant crack unless it was added in addition to the sugar, not substituted for a portion of it. LMF is so soft to start with that you shouldn't have any problems.
Thanks all! I did 1 tablespoon of cocoa in a full batch of Liz marek fondant. It was perfect!
