So I know several of you work or have worked at grocery store bakeries. I'm just curious to see how many of those that have worked/do work in one how long you stayed there?

me, i worked in the grocery store's central non-retail bakery  that supplied the seven or eight stores in the area -- shipped out by truck daily -- saturday nights were 12-15 hour shifts overnight from 10PM friday --

the decorating room was an internal room -- no windows -- there was an old nasty refrigeration unit on the roof that smelled like dirty socks when it kicked on -- the room filled with speed racks loaded with already iced cakes and we all just let 'er rip -- all night long --

my arm would heat up to the extent that you could feel where it was hot and where it was 'room temp' more like 'body temp' but it was interesting --

all that to say i lasted about three months -- i went out with strep throat ha!
