Help! What HappenedHey family!

Help, I made a cake and as you can see from the pic it is two different textures and looks but its from the same cake!  The top of the cake is to me yellow and moist while the the bottom of the cake is dark and dry.  Cake was baked in a 9 x 13 pan.  Not sure if cake was over baked but the top was pretty good. Oven temp was at 350.

Please help! Not sure what went wrong....

Was it baked in a dark pan?  It appears that the bottom did over-bake.  Maybe it needs to be placed higher in the oven.

it looks to me that it's two different cakes -- the dark piece looks like it was baked in a bundt pan -- looking at the crust on it --

i'd need to see an intact slice -- do you have another picture?

Hey Fam!

Thanks so much for the replies! The cake was baked in a Magic Line pan that I sprayed with Baker's Joy and lined with parchment paper.  Unfortunately I dont have another picture, I cut those those two pieces from the top and bottom and I tossed the rest of it in the trash...I will trouble shoot and place it higher in the oven and check my oven temp and see what I come up with.

Thanks again!!!!
