Hi all

I love to think outside the box whenever possible esp since decorating materials & tools can be expensive.

I just found this tutorial for sugar veil lace HOMEMADE

3 ingredients

1/4 cup royal icing mix (CK product)

1/4 cup boiling water

1tablespoon of Tylose powder.

Mix water & Tylose together stirring for at least 5 minutes.

SIFT royal icing powder so NO lumps

In amixing bowl:

Add Tylose water mixture (now it has become a gelatin)  into royal icing.

Mix on low til combined then up speed to medium for about 7-10 minutes. Can add gel colors now if want to. Scrape downn bowl & mix 5 more minutes.

Put in a container. Get out silicon lace design mat & spread mix over design. Remove any excess on edges. Let set til completely dry anywhere from half hour to 2 hours. Then carefully remove starting at one edge of mat.

Store between parchment paper in air right container.r

I haven't tried it yet so let me know if it works for you. I'll be trying it soon.

yByBeats buying it & baking it like some.

I have made several recipes for cake lace, but no like this one.  I have found, with the ones I've tried, that it takes several hours to dry, even overnight.  That also sounds like a lot of Tylose.  I am curious how this turns out.

Not sure how much it makes but it's a pretty hefty batch so I father the reason for all the Tylose
