I have a customer who ordered a 2-tier cake and 150 cupcakes for a wedding, which is a week away. She paid in full months ago but now she is asking to change flavors and less cupcakes. I don't have a problem with the flavor change but me question is the change in quantity. Do you adjust the amount and refund the difference or tell them it's too late? My terms state that no changes 3 weeks prior or it could incur extra costs. I'm just curious about how others have handled it before I respond. Thank you.

If it's not a problem for you, accept her change but let her know there can't be anymore changes without incurring an additional charge. Send the refund, but wait until delivery has been made.

Customers will always remember good customer service!

Thank you mimifix. That's what I thought but figured I would get another opinion.

I'd refund if I haven't done any advance work on decos or ordered any specialized products.  I'd tell her the exact amount that will be refunded 10 days to 2 weeks after the event, and after written confirmation that the order was as expected and there are no other issues.
