A friend loves my strawberry-lemonade cake which is filled and iced with a strawberry jam infused stabilized whipped cream icing.  Recently she asked if I could provide one decorated for a nurse's graduation.  My question - Do you think I can put a layer SMBC over the whipped cream icing and then decorate the SMBC?

Love all the advice I can get here.  Thanks.

I've never put SMBC directly over stabilised whipped cream icing before. Wouldn't it slide off? If I was in your position I would just fill the cake with the whipped cream then frost the outside with the SMBC :-)

My thoughts are exactly the same as JoandPenelope.  Why take the chance, just put a generous amount of whipped cream filling between the layers then frost with SMBC.

JoandPenelope , SandraSmiley ,

I think you are right. I kinda thought the same thing - that the SMBC would slide off.  I will dam and fill the layers with the strawberry whipped cream and ice the outside with a strawberry infused SMBC.
