So I need to bake a cake for today and I was told to freeze the cake after baking to keep it moist. I don't have a lot of time I need the cake done in a matter of hours, so when and how long should I put my cake in the freezer to keep it really moist?
It won't lose its moisture that quickly, Emilysh. Just set it in the refrigerator or freezer long enough to firm up to make it easier with which to work.
Is the cake is going to be eaten today? Or are you just baking/decorating it today and then it is going to be eaten on another day?
Then like SandraSmiley said, the cake should be just fine since it is being baked and then eaten within a few hours.
@Emilysh , once you frost your cake, the moisture is fairly sealed in and will stay fresh for days (if it doesn't have a perishable filling) at room temperature and for a week or more in the refrigerator.
