Hi Everyone,

I was asked to make a cake for a graduate from the police academy in North Carolina.  Does anyone have an idea for a sheet cake with the badge and emblem for the Wilson Police Department?  Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

Police BadgeHi Josette,

Here is a cake that I made for the Phoenix police dept.  I just made the badge out of fondant.

I just looked online for police badge for that dept and made my own template then copied it.  I think I used every tool in the house to put the pattern on and I used edible markers for some of the details.  Hope this helps.  smiley

I am in the process of making a cake for an Eagle Scout ceremony.  I got a hold of a medal and belt buckle (e-bay) and made a mold with food grade silicone mold material.  I have just started to paint them, and will add the fondant ribbon to the medal later, but I think you may be able to picture it.  It has worked very well so far.  If you can borrow a badge or find a good toy badge, and if you have the time, this might be an option.  HTH.  good luck!

Thanks everyone for your input.   I like the idea of the silicone mold and finding a similar badge to create the mold.  Again thank you all and I will post when completed.
