I made chocolate macarons for the first time and they were immediately wrinkling once they started baking for a few minutes. Now they're wrinkled, cracked, barely have feet, and are as hard as rocks. What did I do wrong? (I have a french potluck soon and I need to be able to master these chocolate macarons) Wrinkled And Cracked Macarons! Macaron Experts Help!Wrinkled And Cracked Macarons! Hi!

I've made too many macs now .. When I first started that happened to me. Did you let them rest enough? When it's humid they will be soft to the touch and not stick to your finger but they won't be dry. If that makes sense. Put a fan or two next to your baking sheet. It will help them dry to the touch.

Also, are you using Italian or French? and are you doing tan pour tan ? Make sure you beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. If you put cocoa powder lessen the amount of powder sugar to make up for your cocoa amount. I hope this helps. Feel free to ask more if you need.

Yes, I'm using French method and i did all those steps. I remade them the next day and they were almost perfect until I discovered they were hollow on the inside.
