You can still go....you don't have to compete to go and enjoy the show! OR...you could whip something up in the next few days and compete!

I totally get where you're coming from! I'm just a hobbyist, but man, you think people want it all for free when you just do it from home. I'm sorry, but I'm also a SAHM and I cannot leave my child unattended for hours while baking your cake! So it does take me longer, plus the fact that I will not work for less than minimum wage! I'm glad you posted your struggles because it's helping me see that I need to be firm in my replies about cost and have confidence in my ability. Which is not hard considering I'm competing against commissary cardboard cakes! LOL.

Edited to say, I'm from Austin and I'm dying to go too! LOL.

Yes, I'm going to Austin!!!! I went last year and had a lot of fun! I've worked really hard on my cake this year and hoping it will pay off!

SKIS....You so need to go....even if it's just for a while on Saturday. The demos on Sunday are now $90 I think, but you can get in on Sunday to see the cakes for free too.
