Just in case anyone didn't know, the beaters are not dishwasher safe. The coated and the burnished ones, both are only supposed to be handwashed. Just wanted to pass it on to everyone!

Do you mean the whisk? I know my whisk is not dishwasher safe (unfortunately DH didn't know that icon_sad.gif), but my paddle and dough hook both said they were DW safe. Mine are coated in white.

I've put all three in my dishwasher on the top rack with no problems. My hook and paddle are coated white.

I also have put all 3 attachments in the top rack of my dishwasher (paddle and dough hook are coated in white)...in fact, the manual even states they can be washed in a dishwasher.

The white coated ones can be washed in the dishwasher. The non-coated ones which look silver, cannot be washed in the dishwasher. I have the 6 quart 525watt. It comes with the silver attachments and it states in the manual that they cannot be washed in the dishwasher.

DH put my silver whisk attachment in the dishwasher, and it seems OK, but is no longer silver, but gray.

The dishwasher will eat the silver coating off of them. You can still use them but they just don't have a protective coating on them which makes them more vunerable to harbor germs because they are more pourus.

The sales rep I spoke with on the phone said that neither needed to be in there. She said that the dishwasher wears down the coating and once the coating is gone, it can't be used. The burnished, silver, ones are not supposed to be in the dishwasher because they eat off the protective coating and then it's not supposed to be used. I called to order more attachements because mine, coated and burnished, both were rough and gritty feeling. This is just the information I was told.
