Does anyone know how are these perfect stripes achieved?  The black and white on the bottom, and also the gold?  The gold almost look like gift wrapping ribbon.

Any help is appreciated!!

For the black and white stripes, there are stencils available.  Evil Cake Genius is the one I have, but there could be others:

As for the gold ribbon, I do believe that is actual ribbon and not edible.

Awesome!  Thank you so much!!  What do you think they use for the black?  Gel paint would remain wet too long and no way you could roll the fondant onto itself without smudging.

Thinned down royal icing.  The video makes it seem like you can just keep on painting along, but I actually start on one end, pick up the stencil and then move to the other end to allow that portion to dry, eventually meeting in the middle...I'm afraid to smudge the RI before it dries, so I move from one end to the other.  RI doesn't take long to dry, but I feel better waiting a few extra minutes.

Good luck :)
