I am a Cafeteria Manager for a Elementary school. I am going to make 300 cupcakes. I was wondering if a recipe that is to serve 300 would be the right amount for making 300 cup cakes. My Black Book of recipes doesn't have that information.
What recipe are you using? If it's a cupcake recipe and specifically says that it makes 300 cupcakes/servings, then I'd assume you'll be safe :) If you're using a cake recipe, for instance, things could get interesting...
Depends on your recipe. My chocolate cake recipe for 25 servings yields 24 cupcakes, but my vanilla cake recipe for 20 servings yields 36 cupcakes. It depends on how much your batter rises.
I would divide your recipe down to the smallest amount possible, say 1egg's worth, make that and see how many cupcakes you get. Then you can multiply to see how many cupcakes you can get out of your 300 servings recipe.
Hope this helps!
