How do you get the ruffled look using buttercream frosting? Not using the rose tip, but it's like using the back of a spoon and not uniform lines.
Look on youtube and type in ruffled buttercream cake tutorials. You will see several different types of ways to use the rose tip 104 to do buttercream ruffles on cakes. I learned a whole lot by watching videos then practicing on the side of cake pans with frosting.
You will be surprised at how easy this is to do once you get the hang of it!! good luck I am sure this will help you immensely. There are so many different types of tutorials on there. You can spend 4 hours looking at videos by typing in buttercream borders, buttercream flowers, Painted buttercream cakes,. The choices are endless!!! Then practice on the ones you want to do.
I tried to edit the post above but could not. I just now realize you don't want to do tip 104. There are several other tips you can use so just research you tube and I am sure you will find something similar of what you want to do. Good luck.
