I'm sorry, I'm sure this has been asked before, but I sure can't find the answer.  Can I use royal icing on top of glace icing?  I can't come up with a reason it wouldn't work, but I figured I better ask.

Reason being, I have decorated with glace for years, and I'm doing pretty well with it, but I'd like to get a bit more detail that really pretty tough with glace.  So I thought, do the base with glace, and then the detail with royal.

Would it work?

Do it all the time. I assume you are talking about Toba's glaze? (the royal icing cut with a bit of corn syrup?)
