Okay, if you could only buy one book that helps you with your decorating and making cakes what one would it be? icon_lol.gif

Oh, I am so glad you asked this, I'd like to know the same thing...pumpkinroses has a photo of the cutest little cow you can imagine in her gallery, she posted that she used the book "Marzipan Magic" for instructions. I am really interested in others' recommendations on this topic icon_smile.gif

HI

OMG! I don' know how you could pick only one. It would really depend on what style of decorating you would want to do. I just love all of my books. For the most information and detailed instructions, I would have to say any of the Collette Peters books. Funny thing is, I am not a huge Collette fan. She does do some amazing work, but I think that the luster dusts are over used.

If you were looking for gumpaste, hands down, any of the Allan Dunn. His sugar work is AMAZING

For modelling, any of the spanish magazines, called TORTAS. They show you step by step on how to model animals, people. etc.

I know that I could never pick one book, so they have the market on me.

this question is too hard, the Winsmical cake is good for buttercream, and Cake Walk is the best for fondant, and of course, Collete Petters...
I don't know I love the all...

I second Toba Garrett's new book. It's called "Professional Cake Decorating" and it is fabulous. It is very comprehensive from beginner to advanced and even advanced people may learn some new techniques.

Put down another vote for Toba Garrett's books, they are wonderful. I have learned so much from them and every recipe I have tried has been a hit with my family and friends.
