How Many Weight Watcher Points Is 'cake Fillet' ???

Okay, that is a facetious question. I went to my first Weight Watchers meeting this past Wednesday night. I did Weight Watchers about 2 1/2 years ago, and did really great with the program- lost almost 45 pounds. Sadly, 39 of those pounds have found me again, so I'm back at it. I HATE journaling my food intake, but know that I do sooo much better when I take the time to do it.
Tonight I am baking a cake for FIL's b-day, and I ate some of the 'fillet' (I don't remember who it was on this site that used the term first, but I've been using it ever since. LOL!) I'm thinking to myself, how do I journal this??? Maybe I'll just skip it, this once.
Wish me luck! My first goal is to hit my 10% mark by New Year's Day (which is 24 pounds- eeks!!) TIA!
Happy Baking,
Beth
Well, that all depends on how big a peice of filet you had.... and did you wash it down with a non sugared beverage or milk? It's like the old joke about drinking a diet Pepsi after eating a candy bar cancels out the candy bars calories (In my dreams!)
Debbi
Well, not to be funny and demean your diet attempt....
If you eat it while standing, all the calories will just go to your feet.
You will just have to live with bigger shoes!..lol
Sorry.
I would say that you will have to "fess" up and tell them what you ate, I"m sure they can tell you how many calories that will approximate. Next time..just trow it away..or freeze it and when you have enough of them...
Make cake balls to take to your next meeting..( awful..lol)
*Diva asking God...."If you can't make me skinny...make all my friends fat!"..lol
Hi Beth,
I am also doing weight watchers, and I can see how many points something is online on my point tracker page. Let me know what you ate exactly and I'll check it for you. I don't go to meetings I do it all online so I could use a WW buddy!! ![]()

The WW book says for 1/12 slice of 9" cake its 12 pts. I would do 1/2 that slice making it 6 pts. You can also use your Flex Points. For me doing this just doesn't work..........I don't do good with tasting, I end up eating the whole thing.
Good luck with the cake, WW and Happy B-Day to Fil.
If you ever want to WW talk, PM me or e-mail at: [email protected]. I too I'm doing WW at work......3rd time around.

Naty
Nutritiondata.com can help you find calorie and nutrients in most foods. Did you buy the points calculator? There is a free online version of the points calculator, just google it. I also have the mathematical formula if you need it.
I've lost 18 pounds on WW online in 3 months...even though we had 3 family birthdays, my anniversary, and many other food-related events. I don't exercise much, but it's time for me to start. I want to lose about 20 more pounds. Unfortunately, I can't pay for WW online any more so I have to quit, but I'll do my best to continue on my own.
This is a really funny topic for cake central. Just thinking of this site makes me crave buttercream frosting! Good luck....

Try Slim-Fast.com. It doesn't cost anything. I have had good results, lost 30 pounds. You can journal your food, get buddies, meal plans etc. I am looking to re-commit to my weightloss but have not been real motivated. Well, I am motivated not to gain too much weight back, I got rid of all my "fat" clothes.
check out this site!!!! she has looked up all the resturants food points!! Even ones that are not in the books you buy at the programs.
I love using this one!

I too have done weight watchers...I keep saying I am going to start again...but another birthday, holiday, special event keeps coming up.
I have done weight watchers and slimfast together. i loved it! I swear I am starting tomorrow on my exercise program. And then starting back to WW and slimfast.
It is hard exercising with two kids. I would do it while one takes a nap, but I need to clean and do other things at that time!!! I could get up earlier, but I am NOT a morning person.
GOOD LUCK to everyone on the diet.
Wish I had known about Slim Fast online being free - I just signed up yesterday with Weight Watchers online. I lost 25 pounds with it 3 years ago before I had my kids. Tasting all that cake and frosting has not helped my waistline at all! Maybe we should start a CC Weight Watchers support group ![]()
LOL...that what I was thinking...we should start a thread where we can post our weekly losses (or gains

Count me in!!! I need all the help I can get. Weekends are hard for me. It's hard when the kids want "regular" food, and you have to cook it.
I saw your cake pictures and they are beautiful! Love the height, and the cupcakes look really professional. How do you manage your diet when you have to bake like that?
Good luck to you, and let me know whenever you need diet help.

Naty
Hi Naty,
It is hard for me, especially since I am a firm believer in tasting batter and frosting any time I make something...I am afraid not to. Fortunately for me, I have learned to have a small taste, but some days its harder than others!! I have 4 kids so I know how hard the weekends can be! So far I've lost 17.5 pounds in almost 2 months, but I ate pizza last nght so this week may be a bad one for me!! Email me anytime as well!!

I too am on Weight Watchers (have lost 40 ilbs since June) and thankfully when I was learning to do cakes my Wilton instructor really instilled in us not to "lick" and taste when doing a cake. I'm pretty confident in my cakes so I rarely taste them plus I have enough left overs that my family usually does enough tasting for me. I always check my frosting (just a little).
I wish I was that confident...I just know the day I don't sample b4 I out it in the oven or before I frost will be the day I accidentally put too much salt or some other horrible thing!! At least now all I doo is dip a teaspoon in an just taste what sticks to it!!
Congrats on your weight loss that is so awesome!!!!
Berta
well if thread wasn't a giant boot in the butt... I don't know what is!!! LOL. I am RE-starting WW tonight. I allready forwarned my DH. I too wouldn't mind keepng in touch with you CC girls (or guys.) Weight loss is very hard to go at it alone. I believe my goal is around 20 to 25 pounds. I haven't stepped on a scale in 3 months.... so that is a guesstimate. ![]()
Take care, I will be looking out for a thread on this! ![]()
Count me in as well --
I've been on WW on and off for the past three years -- lost over 40 pounds to get down to 142 and am back at 167 again!! uugghh ..
I'd be up for a thread or weekly posting to help keep us all on track!
pandora -- where in MA are you? I'm in Malden -- I'm just curious!
Jay
