Hello all again. I am wanting to order some cake dummies to practice on instead of baking real cakes. I am just wondering what size do you all buy? Do you buy a 12" and than a 10" or do you skip the 10" and go to an 8"? I need to get some I had someone inquiry about me doing a wedding cake for them. So I thought this would give me something to work with and I can show her the fake cakes instead of baking cakeing. I am looking into buy my dummies at http://www.thebakerskitchen.com/CAKE_SHOPPE/Styrofoam_Cake_Dummies/styrofoam_cake_dummies.htm . Thanks for the help again.

www.dallas-foam.com

I have 2 full sets from 6 to 18" in round plus a full set of square. They aren't that expensive and I use them for more than just cake displays. The larger ones are great to use as elevations (cover with a linen) to have your cake sit higher.

This cake .....

.... is sitting on top of a styrofoam (dummy) cake, enabling the smaller satellite cakes to be slightly tucked under the tiered cake.

They have a lot of uses.

I ordered all of mine through dallasfoamonline.com. Their prices are REALLY good, even with shipping, and they ship very fast. I pretty much ordered every size I thought I would every use-maybe a little bit of overkill.
