Hello!

I am attempting to make this cake for an upcoming 21st, but I am fairly new to all this decorating stuff.

Just wondering if you guys have any advise on, firstly, what i should make the black round tops of film reel from, and secondly, how i can securely stack them like the pic? I plan to make the "film" part from chocolate biscuit cake, smoothed over with a ganache, white icing applied, and then an edible film reel print to go around the outside to give to effect.

Could i cover cake boards in black fondant and use this? I'm just worried it won't be very secure when stacking?

Appreciate any help/advice from all your experts out there.......

i would use styrofoam disk, round the edges and cover them in fondant.

This takes creating a structure.  Possibly a PVC pipe attached to the bottom  board that goes through all the cakes.  These are off center and they will not just stay that way unless secured down the center.  Especially if the reels are going to be cake.
