Help! Brownie Amount For A 10 Inch Round Pan?
Baking By kandyslife Updated 11 Oct 2016 , 9:08pm by Pastrybaglady
Brownie recipe:
1/2 butter 1 1/2 sugar 3 eggs 1/4 cocoa powder Salt 1/2 cups 2tbs flour
6 oz chocolate
Okay so this recipe was used to bake in a 8 x 8 x 2 inch square pan and estimated baking time was 35-40 minutes at 350 F
If i want to use the same recipe but bake it in a 10 inch round pan, should i double the quantity? and how long would the baking time be?
Also would the 10 inch brownie feed 10 people comfortably?
one and a half times for a square 8 to a round 10

8" square pan takes 4 cups of cake batter 10" round takes 6 cups --
yes this will feed ten peeps yummily --
i like to drizzle a glaze on top of my brownies -- just mix hot water with some confectioner's sugar and drizzle on cooled off brownies
the baking time is until they are done -- probably in the nature of 55 minutes give or take -- you just gotta go by what the recipe says to look for as to them being done -- examples -- a toothpick or knife inserted comes out clean, comes out with a bit of crumb, center of pan doesn't jiggle, when pressed in the center it springs back -- those are example -- do whatever the recipe says and you can put a piece of tented foil over the top near the end of the bake and leave it on loosely after removing if you are unsure if the center is done -- rare brownies are never really a problem kwim :)
hope all goes super for you
Here's another way to look at it mathematically:
Volume of an 8" square pan (8 x 8 x 2) = 128
Volume of a 10" circular pan (3.14 x 5 x 5) x 2(as in depth of pan) = 157
128x=157
x= 157/128 = 1.23%
So mathematically speaking, if you increase your original recipe by 25% (because 23% is ridiculous to work with) you will have a plenty for your 10" pan.
