I have recently opened a business selling cakes and have an issue over the boxes to put cakes in. My cake are very tall but I am not sure if its bad to send a cake out without a box. How do you all handle the box issue?

Tape the lid slightly open to allow more "head space". I would not go with NO box....IMHO

Not sure how tall is "tall", but my cakes tend to be between 4.5" and 5" high, and I always use the 6" tall boxes from www.brpboxshop.com.  I like the little bit of extra headroom the taller box gives me, and when the decorations on top exceed that,  like @johnson6ofus ‍ says, tape the box lid open just a bit.  If you're doing those ganache-drip-plus-chocolate-sail look, then even 6" tall boxes aren't going to be a lot of help. :(

If you're in the US, then: http://www.brpboxshop.com/white-cake-boxes.html

I do the same thing and in the front, where the box would have an open area, I tape a piece of parchment paper to cover the space.

I find that cake box extenders are a god send! They leave enough room that you don't need to worry about if your cake will touch to top at all and great for a 2 tier cake as well!

Hope this helps

When I do tall a tall cake, I use 2 regular boxes and cut the lids on them. Then I just tape them together with large clear tape.
