All off you probably hates me for asking this but the truth is "I Dont Know"

I have baught this 100gms og magic decor power now i cant figure out how to use it . My 1st question is

1. How much water to add to make a paste?

 2. How long should i bake at what temp.? If not baking then how long should it be at room temp?

3. Can i colore the paste with regular gel colors?

4. The remaining paste can be saved for how many days?

Thanks

Hi Madhulika,

Ussually there is an instruction in the packaging label. Different brand also have different instruction method (different powder weight, water volume, temperature, time). If the brand name you have is pavoni, you can check the instruction in this link http://www.pavonitalia.com/articoli_allegati/Magic%20Decor%20istruzioni%20mail.pdf

I ussually use the americolour powder, never try the gel paste, because I am affraid it will change the lace consistency...

Thank you

Hi Madhulika

I'm no an expert but I've used Magic Decor edible mix before so I'll let you know what I did (which seemed to work out well).

1. Mix the 100g of powder with ~80g of warm water in your mixer on medium for a few minutes until smooth.

2. You can bake or leave at room temp. Depends on how much time you have/how patient you are. Bake at 250 degrees Fahrenheit for about 6 min. Alternatively, leave to dry for about 3 hours (may give or take a bit depending on environment).

3. I colored using gel colors, but I wasn't trying to acheive a dark color so I didn't use too much. I believe that using a colored dust would work well too without diluting the consistency. If you really want a dark (like black) I'd suggest tinting with a gel and then airbrushing the lace when it is dry and out of the mat.

4. I didn't save any so I can't comment on this piece!

Hope this helps at least just a bit.
