I want to do my first cake using a chocolate transfer sheet and wondered whether someone could advise whether I should use a crumb coating before I apply the chocolate transfer sheet or does it go straight on the 'naked' cake?  Many thanks, Helen

I would do a smooth crumb coat, if you put a transfer sheet on a naked cake all the minor imperfections will show on the transfer and your finish won't be nice and smooth.
