Please Help!   I am decorating a tractor cake for the Wilton novelty cake pan. The Hostess deciced, last minute, she wants the cake torted and filled with pudding and wants it placed on a 12 x 18 sheet cake.  I'm guessing the RSVPs were more than expected. She is willing to pay the extra fees as well.  My questions, 1- would the cake be torted and fill as any other cake?,  2- would Iit be to heavy to set on the sheet cake with out sinking or is some sort of support under needed?   Any suggestions would be appreciated.

i mean it's like a two layer cake with the top layer torted & filled  -- use your judgement -- if you make a lighter pudding you should be fine to just stack it all up -- if it's a heavier/thicker pudding -- sure slide in a cardboard under the tractor and put/cut some dowel in the sheet -- straws would be fine --

put a buttercream dam around the pudding

Fortunately the hostess decided not to fill the tractor cake, but the sheet cake.  It all turned out well.  Thanks for the follow up.[postimage id="5141" thumb="900"][postimage id="5142" thumb="900"]

I've never thought to use RI transfers on top of cupcakes, genius! Does the buttercream degrade the RI in anyway? How long did they sit like that?

well done -- I love the tractor and texturalness of the tires -- cupcakes are adorable -- great job and yes filling the bottom cake (rather than the tractor) makes a lot more sense -- very cool!

thanks for posting -- best to you

Hi Pastrybaglady,

The thinner ones degrade with in a couple of days. I decorate the night before and I have had them stay firm in the cupcake, on the dinning room table for several days.  They are so much fun to make.
