Well the last post on gas I was living in San Antonio, TX. Drive times were really long there and 2.89 was a bummer. Now I live in Abilene drive times are only 10 mins here and rush hour is only at 2 major intersections. So $2.76 Sams/WalMart gas. It isnt so bad now but it still hurts the pocket book. MC

Hi!

I have to add something. I live in Germany and we have very high gas prices. I just had to calculate.

OK this is our price: 1 litre = ¤1,35 = $1,71
1 gallon = 4,55 litre = $7,78 icon_surprised.gif

The big oil companies are skinnin' America!

Knoxville, TN averages $2.80, but most of the time with my Kroger card I can get it for about $2.76.

$60.00 to fill up last week, and let me tell you--my days of wandering around and takin' the kids to the pool are WAY GONE!

Seriously though--I've made up my mind--If the truck gets low before payday--I switch to the Camaro!

$2.98 at the cheapest place I can find in Asheville, NC. My husband is in the oil business, and times are getting tough. Of course, with the kids I drive a gas-guzzling mini-van. My husband keeps saying he's going to buy a motorcycle to drive back and forth to work. (I think he's just looking for an excuse! icon_lol.gif)

I just got back from driving from New Jersey to South Carolina. In NJ, the gas (reg unleaded) is around $3.15/gal. As I drove south, it gradually got cheaper. I think the cheapest I saw was $2.74/gallon. We stopped there and waited in lines to get gas.

I drive a minivan, so I'm hurtin'. It routinely costs me $65-$75 to fill up.

We just dropped back down to $2.99 - $3.05 per gallon of course that will probably spike back up on Friday morning.

I'm excited - the local TV station just announced that we finally have a station near Lansing with E85 and it is priced at $2.99. I'll have to remember that the next time I'm out that way! If it stays within a reasonable price per gallon of the regular stuff I'll definitely try it. icon_lol.gif

Hmmm how people manage with something like a Hummer I'll never know icon_lol.gif
Up here across the border, yeah we havent seen anything below 3.30 US a gallon (did conversion already) in quite a number of years- in fact in the Spring/Winter when things went WAY out of hand- it was 4.08 US/gallon for a while. It's now down around 3.90 icon_rolleyes.gif

I wish things were more in walking distance for us. We are cutting back in other areas just so we can put gas in our cars to go to work and school. icon_mad.gif

Here, on Vancouver Island, gas is $1.19 a LITER.
That's $4.50/gallon Canadian (what we pay) or
$4.02/gallon U.S. dollars.

The upside is the weather is beautiful and it's easy to walk!

Cheers, from
SwampWitch
