I have never used an edible printer, but I'm wanting to start.  I'm getting many requests for wording and designs on cake that are too intricate for piping.  What do you suggest?  Thanks fellow cakers!!!

If you think you will be printing at least once every week to two weeks,  you want to consider it strongly.  If you doubt you will, then you may want to consider having someone do it for you until you get enough orders to print.  Icing Images, not only sells the equipment for you to print, but we do offer a pay per print service where we can print the image for you and mail it to you.

Edible printers are a wonderful edition to your cake decorating business as you can print just about anything thats not copywritten.

We recommend Canon printers because of the removable printhead.  This is the part that will need to be cleaned if you get a clog.  For Epson printers, it is much more difficult to clean the printhead as you have to do it in the printer.

Edible inks are probably the most important factor in edible printing.  There are cheap inks out there and yes, you get what you pay for.  Top level inks will clog less and give you better colors that will stay close to true.  Icing Images sells a high quality edible ink that is amazing.  Just yesterday I had to print an image for my son and I am still amazed as to how vibrant the colors are!  We also have much fewer clogs to the point that once we reached this high level of ink we had to cut back on our support staff since very few people run into problems with our ink.

Icing Sheets are a personal preference.  Icing Images Premium Icing sheets are amazing.  First and most important, they taste good!  They have the flavor of an ice cream cone and do not have an after taste.  They are referred to as the flexible sheet because they resist cracking and are much hardier.  They also have the largest printable area on the market.

Edible printing programs are a must and Icing Images offers iPrint and iDesigns.  iPrint allows you to print on our icing sheets for free, no codes or extra purchases to use our program.  If you buy our product you have access to the program!  iDesigns is a bit different as it contains a huge library of images and backgrounds that you can print to create seamless boarders and more.

Service is also an important factor.  While we try to do our very best for all our customers sometimes we do fall short!  We are not afraid to admit that we are not perfect, however, Icing Images is known for their excellent service and we go beyond what is required to help your customers to the best of our ability.  Give us a call and pick our brains and you will see our service first hand.  We have been known to not recommend edible printers when we feel it is not a good option for our customer.  We want our customers to find success so we offer top service and fantastic products.  We also are trend setters offering new products that are not yet found in the industry as we pioneer the industry to reach new heights.

I hope this has answered your questions.  Feel free to email us directly at [email protected] and we will be glad to help you.

Thank you
