Edible Images- Where Do You Buy Them From?
Decorating By ckirkland Updated 11 Oct 2005 , 11:34am by boween
I have been searching the internet for a place that sells Edible Images. I found several sites, but they don't have a big selection. I was looking for a halloween one to do a fast cake for the school's harvest party. Where do all of you get yours from?
Thanks,
Crystal
I usually find a colored picture that I like, take it to a copy store and have them inlarge it to the size I need. This cost somewhere in the neighborhood from 24 cents to a $1.19 depending on size. I then take this copy to my Wall Mart store's bakery and they print my ediable image. This cost $5.00.(or check your local bakery stores) I know this sounds like alot of running around,I don't have enough calls for the images yet to invest in the equipment needed.OH!! almost forgot----Be carefull of copy rights. Hope this will help

You can also do a google search for Halloween edible images. I saw one earlier today. I have been looking for ideas for a haunted house cake that I have to do. When you click on the image it should take you to the website where you can order it. Good luck!

I don't thinkI understand how edible images work. If you buy the printer needed do I still have to take it to a bakery? Aslo can I use any picture I find on the web? Sorry to be jumping in on the post but I am really wanting to learn about edible images. Thanks, Melony
My Walmart says they will only do it for $25 and they have to send it out of the store to do it and it will take about a week. On the other hand, our local grocery store has a bakery and they do them for me all the time for $6 a sheet and have it ready while I wait.
You guys are lucky. I called Wal-Mart and every other grocery/bakery store here in Longview and no one would print a pic for you without purchasing a cake. So I ended up getting a Canon ip3000 from ebay and have made 3 cakes. Our Wal-mart store sells their pic cakes for $15.00. Picture cake wise I can't compete with that but I KNOW mine taste better.
Mrs. Missey,
I am the one that posted the question re: Tasty Foto Printer. I bought the Canon IP3000 today, I am not sure which frosting sheets and who I should order from;Tasty Foto has an edible paper (potato paper) Kopykake has the frosting sheets for 28/$24.00. Tasty Foto said their ink would not clog the machine. Which company would you suggest I order from? Thanks for all your advise and help.

I also have a canon ip3000. I have ordered my supplies through Kopykake. I love their frosting sheets and get wonderful pictures. You will need to be careful as my black has clogged on me. I followed lisa's instructions on getting unclogged...but took a long time. I have been leaving my ink inside the printer because I print about 3 images a week. I have not had any more trouble with the clogs. I actually think the cleaning cartridge may have had something to do with it. Anyway...my printer has been worth every penny!!! ![]()

I bought an i560 Cannon printer from staples for less then $100. I only use the Lucks brand edible ink and frosting sheets. I have never had any problem with clogging, I do clean my about once a week. I charge $5.00 extra for the cake if I use icing images, they aren't cheap to make!
