How do you get the icing to meld together? For example, if I had a base color and then added a stripe or something over that, how do I get it to look like it's all one? I had thought about outlining and filing in the stripe first and then flooding with the base color, but wondered if there was an easier way?

Do your base icing, then pipe the strip over it while it is still wet. It will blend in as long as your base hasn't started to set up.

Just as Texas Sugar said.. Do the base colour and before it dries put the other colours on.. I watched Martha Stewart do this one time on her old show.. I was so amazed..she made these beautiful pastel butterfly cookies and had dots on the butterflies that blended into the base colour.. I was so impressed thats when I decided to try making some..Have fun making your cookies.. Post some pics for us to see when you are done.. icon_smile.gif
