Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie-ish baker and am attempting to create my son's 7th bday cake next month. I've worked with fondant before, but mostly in cutting out pieces to decorate.

So...here is my question: My son wants a Star Wars b-day cake. I found a picture online that I would like to try to replicate, but it uses black fondant. If I make a whipped mascarpone/whipped cream frosting and let the frosted cake chill really well, will the fondant stick to it? Also, will the black fondant bleed into the frosting?

Thank you!

i would recommend using that as a filling and use ganache or a nice buttercream for under the fondant -- you do need to keep the cake refrigerated to use that though -- the black fondant might bleed a little might not
