Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie-ish baker and am attempting to create my son's 7th bday cake next month. I've worked with fondant before, but mostly in cutting out pieces to decorate. is my question: My son wants a Star Wars b-day cake. I found a picture online that I would like to try to replicate, but it uses black fondant. If I make a whipped mascarpone/whipped cream frosting and let the frosted cake chill really well, will the fondant stick to it? Also, will the black fondant bleed into the frosting?

Thank you!

i would recommend using that as a filling and use ganache or a nice buttercream for under the fondant -- you do need to keep the cake refrigerated to use that though -- the black fondant might bleed a little might not
