Well, the stores are closed, and hubby finished the milk and put the mpty carton back in the fridge icon_rolleyes.gif

Do you think the recipe for Toba's glace would mess up if I used evap milk?

thanks, everyone!

i wouldn't try it. that is different from real milk. you could just add water instead of milk all together.

Evaporated Milk is just whole milk in concentrated form.. so if you add water to to the can it will be the same as whole milk. Or at least that is what i was taught.

I always use water instead of milk for my icing. It dries without any cloudiness and it can be stored on the counter forever just like royal icing.

very cute!! I'm glad i came across this post. I never would have thought to add water to it instead of milk.
Does anyone know if it dries faster?

You can use milk or water. Funny though, as anytime I've ever used water, it comes out cloudy.

I made some the other day and didn't have milk either, and I did not want to use water nor did I want to run to the store - so I used whipping cream (LOL). Came out great. AND, they stayed shiny (!) even after drying. Not sure if it was due ot the whipping cream or not, but I'll try it again to see if it does again. The UGA Baby Bibs in my pics were the ones I did this way, and this picture was taken after they were completely dry/set.
