Hello everyone! I have problem with isomalt gems. First time when I make it, they becomes sticky and cloudy after day. Other time I storage gems in plastic box (near attached small cup with salt) and they looks fine (not sticky) but they are cloudy again. What I do wrong? It's possible to make crystal clear gems at home? Thanks for your answers :)

Hi Madeira, as do mine.  Touch them up with light corn syrup and they'll dry shiny.  Works wonderfully!

Hi Madeira.  Yes initially, but it dries.  Just apply small amounts at a time with a paint brush.  I use it on fondant too, for cherries and strawberries or anything shiny.  Not sure about the sugar syrup, I've never tried it.

You can also rub them with vegetable oil to shine them up.

If creating gems, I would suggest Icing Images DECOgel.  DECOgel is so simple to use and the gems are beautiful, they can go in and out of the refrigerator, freezer or stay at room temperature and never cloud.  Plus, its simple to use.  Pop the container in to the microwave for about 20-30 seconds, pour it in to your mold, let it sit for 20 minutes or so (faster in the freezer) pop the gem out and you have realistic gems that are similar to a gummy bear texture!  No high heat, tastes like vanilla and its just like eating a gummy bear! Check this independent review of DECOgel http://morselsbymark.blogspot.ca/2014/06/new-product-review-icing-images-decogel.html
Please let me know if you have any questions!
