Hi everyone,

Ive been looking into getting a few pedestal type cake stands and sorry if I sound stupid but any that Iv found start at around £80.. Is this what I should be expecting to pay per stand?! I genuinely never realised they would cost so much. Also where do you all buy your stands, if you don't mind sharing?

I own 5 different stands and bought most of them at Winners and 1 at Canadian Tire. Never paid over 30$ for them. I have a a 12" stand which is by Cake Boss, then a 6", 8", 10" and 11" stand. They're all really nice since I can put different coloured ribbon around.

I have two of those milk glass cake stands  green and blue and got both at TJ Maxx for $ 25.00 each.

Of the more than 200 cake stands that I own, I got 90% of them from eBay. I collect them as I am sure you can guess.

That is far too expensive. I bought a lovely stand through Amazon.co.uk and subsequently found stands at IKEA and other stores. You just have to keep your eyes peeled. Lakeland sometimes have them, for example. I have also seen people sell on etsy, either hand-turned wooden ones (that can be painted any colour) or polystyrene bases that have been dressed with fabric and sequins/diamantee. The stand on Amazon was sold by http://www.melodymaison.co.uk You might want to keep an eye on that website as they often import lovely things and their customer service is second to none.

you can also make your own with myriads of different materials including foam -- i love these peeps https://hotwirefoamfactory.com and you can buy foam insulation from the hardware store -- bam

especially nice for larger tiers

one of my Favorite Things is making cake stands -- best to you!
