What Would Be The Best Way To Make These Harry Potter Quidditch Towers?

My first post and would love some advice. I'm hoping to make my son a Harry Potter Quidditch cake for his birthday next weekend. I want to make towers like the ones in the picture. Do you think these are made with foam or rkt as a base? Or made some other way? Any advice would be very much appreciated.

I think foam would be easiest. Last time I was in Hobby Lobby they had rectangular pieces like that.

Thanks. I'm in Australia so no Hobby Lobby for me (or Michael's to my disappointment) but will try my local cake deco store.
