Hi, Just wanted to know if any of you, use the fan force button in your oven when baking a cake like chocolate or butter cake. i bake only one cake or layer at a time? do you place more than one cake on different shelves and use fan force. just curious.TIA

For cakes I turn my fan on... I can do multiple pans and shelves easier that way... I just drop the temp a bit...

For cupcakes I leave it off... I don't want to hassle on putting something in front of the fan to keep the cupcakes from leaning due to the air blowing... learned that the hard way...

I also turn the fan on for most other oven applications... cooking or baking... I like it because it seems to make my oven bake more evenly...

If I need more than one rack I will use the convection feature. My oven calculates, but it's easy to find the conversion chart. Yes, muffins and cupcakes don't fare as well!
