Hi everyone!
Does anyone have a buttercream recipe that they’ve use on cake dummies? I know I want to do buttercream, and I know I want it to be cheap! It’s not going to be eaten, it doesn’t have to last a while (two days), and all I really want is something that gives me a smooth surface. Nothing fancy!
I’ve looked on countless forums, youtube videos, and websites, but I’ve only seen questions and answers regarding WHAT to cover a cake dummy with, whether it be royal icing, spackle, buttercream etc. I only need to cover a couple of cake dummies, so I figured buttercream would be the cheapest option, and I'd like to do that! Any good recipes you'd be willing to share?

I was going to say a Crisco and powdered sugar icing would be cheap but if it's not going to be eaten how about a cheapie store brand shortening and cornstarch? That should last forever.
