I'm going to use the corn syrup/vodka method to make a cake shiny. Do you need to wait until the fondant is completely dry before painting on?

It is my preference to let my fondant covered cake sit about a couple of hours before I decorate further.

Not sure what you mean by "do I leave for a couple of hours". I just keep doing things around the house and go back to decorating.
